Maypop Wine Co is the vision and work of Vince Kelsey & Shea Guevara. With a combined 20 years of professional winemaking experience, the couple grew up tending vineyards and making wine with the patriarchs of their families in California. Both have worked in the vineyard to the cellar, Vince taking his first harvest just at 19 while still in undergrad and Shea at 23 in Oregon. From agrarian roots, they both consider themselves climate refuges and have settled in the Willamette Valley with a profound sense of abundance and appreciation for this land of milk and honey.

Each Maypop wine is a celebration of the relatively underground varietals largely outshined by the regions storied Pinot Noir. While Pinot Noir put the valley on the global spotlight, which is another reason to celebrate, the Willamette region provides ideal growing conditions and incredibly unique microclimates for many varietals.Maypop has chosen to showcase those, hoping with time and the continuing diversity of plantings that our highly mono-varietal valley will evolve into an even greater success story.

Now with 2 vintages of Maypop, we’ve the opportunity to work with varietals such as Albariño, Gewurtztraminer, Riesling, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Gamay, Syrah, and Cab Franc as well as cider apples and mead. The scope of winemaking includes methode traditional, barrel, stainless, and whole cluster fermentation, and carbonic maceration.
